NEW - Remote Support - yes, you too can now benefit from my latest addiction. Remote PC control. If you're having problems getting your laptop, cable, and software hooked up - and as long as your laptop has an internet connection - I can get in to your laptop and remotely troubleshoot the cable/software. Or, if you just need some computer help, sometimes I'm available for that too... Cost? Maybe kick a little $$ my way for the Diet Coke fund, I dunno. I may be a better option than some "geek group". ;) It has worked very well for the customers I've used it with so far. Why, just today, during my lunch hour, I read a PCM out of a car that was sitting on a dyno in Detroit... and I'm in Texas... The software I use requires a visit to a web site and just a small plug-in on your laptop - and no firewall configuration or anything complicated. I use this at work all the time, it's a secure and well known software program, and once we disconnect, it's over and gone and I cannot access anything any more.

Our cables connect to many different GM ECMs/PCMs, typically ranging from 1986 to 1995. They do not connect to Dodges, Fords, or most other manufacturers. An exception to this is manufacturers who used GM computer control system components, such as Lotus - we do connect to some Lotus automobiles. Software can be found at links to the left.

USB Trade-Up Program! So you've got one of my RS232 cables, but that shiny new laptop you are admiring doesn't have an RS232 port on it... what to do? Take a look here for some options.

Universal Serial Bus Information A lot of newer laptops don't have RS232 ports on them. If you've ordered one of my USB cables, here are the installation instructions. It does require a software driver to be installed (CD included with the cable).

PCM REPAIR INFORMATION: Sometimes, programming gets interrupted when flashing an LT1 PCM. Unfortunately, it happens - due to a laptop thing (power saver mode; screen saver; anti-virus; battery dying), or the cable can be knocked loose. . I do know how to repair PCMs. Right now (Summer/Fall 2010), I am not repairing PCMs, as I am spending much time studying for my Professional Engineering exam. I recommend talking to Ion at MadZ28.com - he can repair PCMs. I do have binary chip images here on my web site at OBD1-t.bin, OBD1-e.bin, OBD2-t.bin, OBD2-e.bin - the "T" is the blue/gray board, and the "E" is the red/black board.

I do not have a schematic available for USB cable, I never made one, lol. And the parts are so small that a kit is really out of the question (it requires some skill to assemble).
